The Armenian-Canadian IT Industry Promotion Initiative

The Republic of Armenia , led by the Enterprise Incubator Foundation in Yerevan , has launched the Armenian-Canadian IT Industry Promotion Initiative (ACITIP) to promote linkages between the Information Technology Sectors of Armenia and Canada . Canada is the first country to be selected.

The goal of ACITIP is twofold:

• To increase the awareness of the capability, sophistication and potential of the Armenia IT sector in Canada and to generate sales opportunities for export-ready Armenian companies in the Canadian and North American markets;
• To inform Canadian IT companies and investors of the scientific and technical capacity of the Armenian IT sector and to promote investment, joint ventures and outsourcing in Armenia . Armenia , with a rich trading history, is a stable, safe gateway to large regional markets, including Russia .

The opportunities for Canadian companies are significant:

• Access to sophisticated Armenian IP, a product of the research mandates held during the Soviet era;
• Access to skilled, highly educated, low cost software resources to support offshore research and development;
• Partnership with Armenian firms for entry into large Russian-speaking markets;
• Partnership with Armenian firms to sell Armenian products and services into North American markets.

ACITIP is supported by a Canadian representative in Ottawa and the skilled business and technical resources of the Enterprise Incubator Foundation in Yerevan , the capital of Armenia .

ARMAGROFORUM and AGROPRODEXPO - 2004

Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia together with the UNDP, the UN FAO and the World Bank, are pleased to announce the first international Armagroforum conference to be held on October 28-30, 2004. In conjunction with the conference, a trade show Agroprodexpo-2004 will also be held.
The objective of these two events is establishing business contacts and attracting investment to the benefit of Armenia's agricultural complex.
