PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS, REFERENDUM TO BE HELD ON MAY 25, 2003

    Elections for the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and a referendum on amendments to the Armenian Constitution will be held on May 25, 2003, as mandated by the Armenian Constitution, Electoral Code, and Law on Referendums.
    The citizens of Armenia who reside in foreign countries can participate in the referendum, as well as in the proportional (party) balloting of the parliamentary election, i.e., they can vote for the parties and party alliances contesting seats in the National Assembly.

   
   
As required by the appropriate provisions of the Electoral Code, one electoral precinct was established in Canada, to allow the citizens of the Republic of Armenia residing in Canada on temporary or permanent basis to cast their ballots in the election.
   
In order to vote at the electoral precincts in Canada, the citizens of the Republic of Armenia who are eligible to vote (of age 18 and above) need to register for the election at the Embassy of Armenia:

    The completed Voter Registration form can be submitted in person or by mail, and cannot be presented by telephone or fax. The citizens who will have registered to vote by May 23, 2003, will be included in the main voters list, and the citizens who will register on May 23-24, 2003, will be included in the supplementary voters list. On the election day, May 25, 2003, the voters can vote between the hours of 8 am and 8 p.m. (8:00 - 20:00) at the Embassy Of Armenia by appearing in person and presenting their passports.
